Emerald Bay Energy Cases Kuhn A5 Well
Emerald Bay Energy Inc. (TSX Venture: EBY) (the “Company” or “Emerald Bay”) is pleased to announce that the exploratory Kuhn A5 well has been successfully drilled and cased at the Company’s Wooden Horse play in Guadalupe County, Texas.
Kuhn A5 reached total depth of 2351 ft in the Upper Edwards formation.
Target formation was the Austin Chalk.
Mud log, formation samples, and an open-hole log suite confirmed the potential for commercial production in the Austin Chalk and the Company set 5 1/2 inch casing and successfully cemented the casing to isolate the intervals of interest.
Even with a heavy mud weight of 9.5, an excellent “show” of oil in the drilling mud was observed.
Best oil “show” to date on our Wooden Horse acreage.
Kuhn A5 is on a previously undrilled structure with the potential of virgin reservoir pressure without depletion.
Our technical team will be evaluating drilling data this week to determine the best completion program to maximize production.
